Public bug reported:

It is already possible to add a logo that is an SVG file as logo via a
theme. However, it is not possible to do so via the admin area in
'Institutions'. While we are not allowing the upload of SVG files in
general for everybody on portfolio pages (abandoned bug #1681571),
administrators are trusted and thus should have the possibility.
