Message #63448
[Bug 1946276] [NEW] image gallery descriptions inconsistent in overlay player
Public bug reported:
If only some images in an Image Gallery have a description that text
will persist if the next image doesn't have a description.
This works with selected images and directories.
Discovered on Chromium/Linux. Also present on Firefox/Linux.
Setup:
Main Menu > Create > Files
Create a directory and upload at least 2 images.
Edit some of these so they have a description. Ensure some do not have a description.
Main Menu > Create > Pages and Collections
Add a page with an Image Gallery block.
In the Image Gallery settings:
Image selection: "Display all images from a folder including images uploaded later".
Folder: Select the folder you uploaded the files to.
Style: Thumbnails (square)
Show descriptions: Yes
Save the block.
View the page in Display mode and click an image to display it in the
overlay. Press Start Slideshow (The Play button, top right of screen)
Do not move the mouse after clicking.
Expected behaviour: Descriptions are present if image has one.
Actual behaviour: When an image without a description is displayed the
description from the previous image is left in place. This persists
until an image with a description is displayed.
There are other inconsistencies. As mentioned, this happens if you press
play and don't move the mouse. Moving the mouse brings up the overlay
controls and the next/previous buttons as well. In that mode it seems
random if the descriptions are displayed at all. I have seen it play
through with no descriptions at all as well.
** Affects: mahara
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Tags: regression
