Could you please post or attach the source of the message so we can see
what it looks like? We haven't been able to replicate this issue and
thus before diving in on the deep end, more information would help.

  Mahara activation key not working

Bug description:
  After registering to try out mahara demo, i got sent an activation
  email which when clicked redirected me to mahara with a message saying
  "Sorry, we don't have a key that matches your link. Perhaps your email
  program mangled it?"

  Mahara version: 21.10
  windows 10 os
  outlook email manager
