MWL83: review

Hi Timour,

This is the first portion of the feedback.

A general note about EXPLAIN output: "Subqueries: 2" looks ugly. A human will
read this as " there are two subqueries somewhere", which is clearly not the
case. All other lists (indexes for index merge, ref components) are
comma-separated, while list of subquery ids uses spaces.

As far as I understand, @@optimizer_switch flags and other controls for dynamic
condition are present, but the feature is not working? We can't push it in
this state, because this will be very confusing for anybody trying to use the
new features.

psergey: I think this function needs to be called get_total_subquery() cost,
to follow the pattern set by other similar functions.

When I read this function, I don't understand why it doesn't account for the
fact that a subquery might be evaluated multiple times. Please add a comment
about that.

psergey: Please move this new piece of code into a separate function. It does
one thing, its action can be easily separated from what the rest of the code in
this function does, so it should be moved away.

"least_card_pos" for every position in the join->positions[] array.

psergey: I find it weird that every time you need to analyze the WHERE
condition for expensive items. I would have expected that you would
- collect a list of AND-parts of the WHERE that can be moved
- do some pre-processing (like, fetch their cost)

and after that run join optimization that would use this data.

> +              List_iterator<Item> and_parts_it(*((Item_cond*) join->conds)->argument_list());

psergey: There are a lot of places in the code that check a condition whether
a given Item object should be processed by cost-based condition pushdown.
This means, the check should be factored out into a function.
