Re: Aria_log file
I compiled Maria 5.3.2 on OS X 10.7.2 yesterday and I can happily report that this bug has been fixed. Thanks!

Glad to hear. I have filed a bug

because it seems to me that those writes should not happen if there was no
database activity.

Hello,
Please try setting aria-checkpoint-interval to a higher value (in

How do you read the 'aria_log.0000001' file in the data directory? If I
open it with a text editor, It appears to be binary, but mysqlbinlog
says that it is not. I'm asking because it looks like 5.3.1 is
continually (every two minutes) writing to the log, even with no
database activity. This impacts automatic sleep on my Macbook Pro.
