MariaDB supports CREATE ... AS SELECT.  It does not have facilities for materialized views.  I work for for Percona and maintain http://flexvie.ws (flexviews) a fast refresh materialized view solution for MySQL and MariaDB.  Let me know if you need assistance with it.
