Hi,
I would suggest TokuDB, though you will have to enforce the "no
updates" rule with permissions. Like ARCHIVE, TokuDB is compressing,
but unlike ARCHIVE it is also MVCC and has tunable compression levels.
I'd recommend an auto_increment to keep insertions in sorted PK
order. The secondary keys (as long as they aren't unique) can be
maintained /very/ efficiently in TokuDB, particularly if certain
limitations with respect to binary logging are allowed.
