Background:  3 Mariadb Galera servers  - 'maxscaleuser'@'hostname%'   configured as directed 
Maxscale 1.4 for SUSE 12 

In the maxscale log I see the following errors:

  Failed to obtain address for host hostname%, Name or service not known.
  Failed to add user maxscaleuser@hostname% for service [galera service]. This user will be unavailable via maxscale. 

So I have my maxscaleuser account setup in mysql correctly but it appears that maxscale doesn't like the wildcard % ?  is there a way to fix this ?
