Sorry. I'm fixing it. Someone has reported
https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-12261 about this issue, you can
watch it if you want to be notified when it's fixed (hopefully, today).

will follow a 10.1.23 release shortly or can we have at least a unified difdf which can be applied by rpmbuild?

P.S.: "MariaDB 10.1.22RC now available" with focus on the "RC" would be cool, httpd as example just move over the tarball to the stable folder and if something needs to be fixed they just skip that version - so you can be sure that if you already built a RC as package which became the GA tarball you don't need to rebuild at all and can easily help to verify releases
