Unfortunately this is not the sole problem. Dynamips simulates only CISCO
hardware and not the hardware of other constructors. We could consider an
integration into Marionnet supposing that we found a mean to simulate the other
main routers or switches constructors (Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent,..). Working in
and for a public university structure we cannot privilege a firm over another.
Thus, the integration of Dynamips may be planned, certainly, but it seems quite
complicated at this moment (considering also that we have a lot of work in many
other directions...).
Generally speaking, we are not enthusiastic about programs allowing to run (and
encouraging to) proprietary software. VirtualBox is more interesting for us
essentially because it should provide a support for practical courses related to
system installations (disk partitioning, formatting, etc).
We understand your point of view but in good conscience we would feel uneasy by
following such a direction. Sorry.
We nonetheless appreciate your feedback and suggestions.
