[Bug 195185] Re: subtitles broken
Prior to version 0.5.X, Me TV only used the video and audio PID in the
channels.conf however this information is available automatically from
the DVB/MPEG 2 stream. The auto-pid blueprint specifically refers to
the ability for Me TV to read all the PIDs automatically from the stream
including subtitles, AC3, audio, video and teletext.
This is important because TV stations often change PIDs throughout the
day in Australia and they need to be detected on-the-fly. Also, TV
networks sometimes permanently switch PIDs. Without the auto-pid
feature, subtitles would not be possible.
Thanks for your great work. I'm glad that you're taking an interest in
the project. Please feel free to ask these questions any time you like.
