I did a fresh install of 9.04 on my eee-pc.
I have suffered the same Problem described above: "by location" was empty.
After reading Michael's post I installed dvb-apps. I can now choose country (de) and region (Kassel).

But....I get the following message after initiating the scan: <<Could
not find a value for ">> (Konnte keinen Wert für ")

There was no such strange error message when I scanned on other cities
such as Berlin, Bielefld etc. (Of course me-tv did't find any channels
there.)

Just to make sure my firmware still works in jaunty I installed Kaffeine and libxine1-... 
Kaffeine works fine with DVB-T. I had no problems with me-tv in 8.10 neither.  :( 

If I look in ~/.me-tv there are no files I could check except a db.

What else can I try?
