with 0.9.3 beta 1 , for me, this issue is resolved.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: me-tv

Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty
Me-TV 0.8.9 dev version

When starting new install, the setup wizard hangs during channel detection process showing the progress bar, however the add button appears at the bottom. This occurs using both the detect option and the import channels option.

However running Me-TV in safe mode ie;
$ me-tv -s

both methods were proved more successful :)
