See below of a conversation between myself and SQLvpapir...  it seems
that the new code works but the channel numbers start at number 2 and
keystrokes are incremented on higher than pressed! as in press number 2
and the channel changes to 3 but if you press 0 (zero) you get "invalid
channel index"

seems it occurs whenever one chooses a channel that doesn't exist

I must have double tapped the channels that exist in order to get the
