I now activated this repos: https://launchpad.net/~vk7hse/+archive/ppa, which installed this :
Me TV 1.0.0~beta3

upon starting it asked to delete the old database, but apperantly
couldn't and responded with some multiline sql eror message. After
deleting the old .me-tv directory me-tv could be started and allowed to
do a new configuration, and finally did show TV!

Bug description:
Binary package hint: me-tv

me-tv is installed from ppa repository
 http://ppa.launchpad.net/me-tv-development/ppa/ubuntu intrepid main
but cannot be started as it is missing a correct vrsion of some file, see screenshot
