Re: [Question #135335]: Wheelchair interface and Protocol
Question #135335 on Tekla changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/meadl/+question/135335
Status: Open => Answered
Jorge Silva proposed the following answer:
Actually, at the moment we are relying on the simple electrical
transducer standard (SET) that most wheelchair appliance control units
(ACU/ECU), ability switches and joysticks conform to
(http://trace.wisc.edu/docs/set/set.htm).
I am not familiar with the M3S, is it what the wheelchair's data bus
uses? Is it supported by most manufacturers or just some? We have not
yet tried to connect directly to the chair since the ACU/ECU provides a
simple standard interface that we can also use with other devices, but
it sounds like M3S could provide enhanced functionality.
Would you mind explaining the details? You could do it here or we could
start a page on the wiki: http://wiki.scyp.atrc.utoronto.ca/w/Tekla, in
any case, it would be good to learn from what you are doing.
cheers!
