WoooHooo, congrats :))

I prefer VLC for watching movies and stuff but totem is great for radio.
I think to get totem working i would be tempted to use Synaptic Package
Manager

System - Adminsitration - Synaptic

Click on

Edit - "Fix broken packages"

then use either search tool to find totem and right-click to reinstall
it. Finally click on the "Mark all updates" button & the click on
"Apply". Hopefully that should sort a few things out that might have
gone a bit wonky over the last few days.
