[Bug 684575] Re: Software Centre finds "Google Earth" when no package exists

Hi Adam! Thanks for your bug report. I have managed to track this down
(hopefully correctly) to the medibuntu repository. They provide an app-
install-data-medibuntu package which includes a desktop file for Google
Earth. Presumably you have installed this package at some time in the
past. This is why google earth is (correctly) listed in the software-
center. Medibuntu does not however provide the google earth package for
maverick. This is why software-center correctly mentions that the
package is not available in your current software sources. So the
conclusion here is that medibuntu is claiming to provide google-earth
(by providing an app-install-data desktop file for it), but in reality
is not providing the package (for maverick). I will add a task for
medibuntu to this bug report, but it would seem that software-center
isn't actually doing anything wrong here. Please continue to report any
bugs you may find in software-center. Thanks again for your help!

** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu)
       Status: Incomplete => Invalid

** Also affects: medibuntu
   Importance: Undecided
       Status: New
