avconv is a command line application that makes use of libavcodec, just
as mencoder does. It can be used, among others, for conversion and
debugging purposes.

I'm sorry but I cannot give you further advice than looking up the
avconv's manual and documentation. I'd suggest to bring this issue up to
the authors of divxenc .
