Why would I run after the people? why it is not the other way around? those
who are interested to join a project need to 'ask' and not wait. I have
asked from day one from everyone to be 'proactive'. Only very few who are
truly proactive.

As per google:

(of a person, policy, or action) creating or controlling a situation by
causing something to happen rather than responding to it after it has
happened.
"be proactive in identifying and preventing potential problems"
synonyms: enterprising, take-charge, energetic, driven, bold, dynamic,
motivated, go-ahead
