Wait a sec: in that page is clear that the author is considering better
the protocol that allows "OnClick" methods, perhaps a bit of evaluation
is needed here. 
  

Right - that's why it's useful to think about having the messaging indicator exposed too, because it addresses the primary uses cases that drove click-on-notifications.
