World is not made of just grandmothers.
Sure many people will never learn but many actually will.
Always present the choice, and ask for confirmation (unless the user
explicitely asked the system not to bother him).
Make the choice easy to perform, and always provide a way for the user
to *know* what's happening, even if it would took days of googling.
That's computing fair-play.

Try to educate the user whenever possible, never lock him out.
