Fair point :D I was basing that on Shuttleworth's blog post about windicators, an example given was a volume indicator.
Regardless, I feel like anything that is small, used to convey information to the user, and tied to a window should be made larger when the window is thumbnail-ized (better term, anyone?), otherwise it is no longer useful.
