[Ayatana] Global Menu behaviour

Hi,

I am now using Unity and feel confused with how the global menu works. I
think both approaches (Global and, erm… Not-Global) have advantages and
disavantages, and feel that the best for usability and consistency would
be to mix both approaches.

Here is a quick and dirty mockup of how I think menus should work :
