hello list, i filed this as a bug report on launchpad before, but i suppose not much will happen without a proper discussion of the design: "grid makes window corners round" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/694302 Unlike maximization of a window, grid-snapping does not always resize to fill the whole workspace, yet it resizes to fill a rectangular area. So in a way, snapping a window to the Compiz grid is maximizing it to a rectangular area. At the moment, window corners are rounded, whenever a window is not maximized. We should consider the possibility, that snapping to the grid aka tiling is in fact a form of maximizing, which in turn would mean that the window corners should not be rounded on tiled windows. The whole point of tiling windows is broken visually, imo, if the corners are rounded on tiled windows. This, among other problems with Compiz Grid's visual implementation, make the feature not only less attractive but also less understandable and thereby less discoverable to the user. thoughts?
