I'm currently trying the beta version of ubuntu 11.10. It's great but one
thing isn't consistent. It's workspace switcher. Now when you switch
workspaces with CTRL+ALT+ARROW the wallpaper does not move. There are only
moving windows. But when you open up workspace switcher, there is wallpaper
on every workspace. That's not logical because as I wrote, only windows are
moving.
Having the entire wallpaper move is quite jarring.
I think ideally you'd provide one image that you effectively move
throughout. Think a panorama that you'd move along while you switch
horizontally. I think having wildly different backgrounds doesn't make
much sense.

The best solution is in my opinion to move the background a little, like it is in android. Moving the complete background only makes sense if you have a panorama picture or four diffrent pictures.
