I don't think it should be, because tihs is a helpful feature.

It instead should be two semicolons:

;;

That way it doesn't confuse anyone by accident and is still easy to use.
What do you think?

The user should be able to deactivate command stacking and it should be off by default (for new users).

The problem is that the default stack-character (the semicolon) is also widely used in smileys. So the user should know that he explicitly enabled command stacking and which character he uses for it, so he is able to understand the errors that will occur afterwards if he starts typing smileys.
