Dont install mudlet from a ppa package on ubuntu. It's caused lots of 
problems. Get the source from git and compile it yourself.

If the lag monitor doesnt show anything ask the operators on your mud to 
enable a telnet GA signal after the prompt. This is the quasi standard 
on most big muds.
If this is not enabled there is no sane way of measuring the lag.

When interacting heavily, there's a good two second delay for each instead of half a second, and the input line lags when typing a new command. Also during this overtaxing, the CPU will max out and the screen will dim out for a couple second once every 10-15 minutes or so.
