To clarify matters, can you please check your aliases and verify if the 
patterns begins with a ^ anchor?
A pattern like "def" would be matched also when you type "defenses".
This would call both aliases.
The same goes for the end anchors. If you have the alias patterns "^def" 
and "^defenses" both would be called if you type defeneses. "^def$" 
would solve this.
