I too would appreciate this functionality.

I believe that for this to work, the function that writes to the log
would have to write out AFTER changes to the output buffer.

Also, on current implementation  of HTML output, there's sometimes an
error with the line break tag being shown as <\ br>.  This should be
changed, to the correct tag, <br />.

Bug description:
When using the HTML logger, the changes made to the buffer are not shown. 

This is pretty essential for debugging.
