  Blank error message on regex compile message

Status in Mudlet the MUD client:
  New

Bug description:
  Compiling the "^mmdefs(?: (\w+)?$" pattern for an alias gave a blank
  error message, instead of saying that there is an unbalanced
  paranthesis.
