  insertLink with formatting argument shows nothing

Bug description:
  Here's an example:

  insertLink("{I work}", '', '')

  fg('green')
  insertLink("{I won't}", '', '', true)

  It's expected that the second insertLink will show up green - however,
  it doesn't.
