We can't use this for 2 reasons: 1. it's a performance hit for everybody
using gmcp although only very few muds will show this problem ->
unacceptable 2. at least one bigger mud does this explicitly and wants
its players to use lua ansi parsers -> using this would make this
impossible

Bug description:
  My MUD is impolite enough to send me colored GMCP messages. The
  attached patch strips them.
