Message #02993
[Bug 1164804] Re: Exit lines don't 'anchor' to exit direction
I think I need to provide screenshots (or at least mockups) rather than
trying to convey it via ASCII :) I'll try to create something to better
describe my intention, as I think something might be getting lost. It
sounds like Stephen knew what I had in mind as his description matches
what I was meaning to convey.
Rough ASCII until I can make something better (* = room, --- = exit
line)
*-----* (two rooms connected east-west) This looks fine.
If I move the rooms, this is how it will look today. I didn't change the exits, but _visually_
it looks like the exits are north-south.

Ideally, this is what it should look like. It is still clear that the
exits are east-west, despite the user having dragged the rooms around.
No need for custom exits, because the rooms really are east-west!

Title:
Exit lines don't 'anchor' to exit direction
Status in Mudlet the MUD client:
Invalid
Bug description:
Mudlet 2.1, Win7 x64
Visual issue in the mapper:
Consider two rooms connected east-west. If I move the room to the east
'below' the room to the west, I would expect the connection between
them to visually be a 'Z' shape, where it is obvious that the exits
still extend from the east and west respectively.
Instead, the lines originate from the center of a room. So if I move
the east-west pair as above, the exit line will visually appear as if
it extends from the south/north.
The exit lines should potentially be drawn between the ends of the
'exit stubs', rather from the center of a room. In the example above,
this would give the expected 'Z' shape.
