Re: [PATCH] Asus EeePC T91MT support

Hi Chase,

I know you are all at UDS (Stéphane is there too) and you all seem to be very busy...

The point is that one of the three patch (the most critic one, concerning hid-core) is already in 2.6.36. So it should be back-ported in 2.6.35 as without it, the device is totally ignored by hid.

Concerning the two other patches, the point is that Stéphane is working on a generic-multitouch driver: I do not want to make too much noise on linux-input for a driver which is going to die while the generic one is coming... I was planning to send patches again the generic one and not the "old" one.

BTW, have a good UDS !

Cheers,
Benjamin

PS: thanks for the kernel-team link, I'll send there my patches again. ;)

Hi Chase, folks on the list,

this week end, I have in my hands an EeePC T91MT from Asus. The support
of the dual touch screen is not working out of the box in Maverick.

Hi Benjamin,

I wanted to let you know that many of us are at UDS this week. I'll try
to take a look at these patches next week. If you like, you can forward
the patches to kernel-team@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, which is where all Ubuntu
kernel patches are handled.

To give you a head start, it will be difficult to get the patches into a
released Ubuntu version unless they are submitted upstream to the stable
kernel tree first. You can find documentation on that in the kernel
source tree in Documentation/stable_kernel_rules.txt. In fact, if you
get the patches into the stable tree they will be merged into the Ubuntu
kernel automatically.

Thanks,

-- Chase
