Thanks for this patch, and the other one about keeping snapshots! I'm looking
into integrating the latter one.
I actually already incorporated a patch for reading ~/.my.cnf into the trunk,
which was provided by Baron Schwartz a while ago - DBD:mysql already supports
this, I just had to enable it. Could you take a look at the following patch
and let me know if it would work for you as well?
