Hi!

This is the welcome message I've just set (I hope it's better  
formatted than what I got when copy/wasting it):

Welcome to the MySQL Proxy discussion list!

This list is intended to serve as the main place where discussions  
about the future direction of MySQL Proxy should take place.
You are also welcome to ask general questions about Proxy usage and  
share your experiences.

Foremost, however, we would like to engage in a more technical  
discussion, such as the design and implementation of new features  
(whether the implementor is a Sun employee or a community member).
Please note that for any patches to be accepted to the main MySQL  
Proxy codebase (a.k.a. trunk), a non-Sun employee is required to  
follow the steps outlined at http://forge.mysql.com/wiki/Community_Contributions

IMPORTANT: Please note that at this point the latest code is _not_ yet  
on launchpad. We are working on it and it should appear during the  
first week of January at the latest. Happy proxying!

The last part is especially important, obviously.

I don't expect much going on on this list over christmas vacation, but  
I hope it will pick up as soon as we all get back in beginning of  
January.
