[Bug 508642] Re: Flashing image on vga, no image on TV

The following can be a bit inacurate, I'm writing this from memory.

After installing mythbuntu again with the open source driver i have a
perfect image.

Then I went to hardware drivers and activated the NVIDIA driver there.
After a reboot I still had a perfect image on VGA. I had no image on the
TV.

I managed to get a TV image via this utility, But as soon as I activated the TV, the image on my LCD monitor dissapeared, and my LCD monitor gave the message signal out of range

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV: Incomplete

Bug description:
Mythbuntu version:
Mythbuntu 9.10 32 bit

Hardware
Nvidia Geforce 2 MX-400 64MB PCI with VGA and Svidio connections
Pentium 3 coppermine 677Mhz with 512MB SDram
No TV capture card
USB card
3com PCI network card
adaptec scsi card
sound blaster audigy card
8GB harddisk

What happens
The installer works fine, and asks me what kind of video driver I want. I choose Nvidia drivers.
The installer runs fine, and after some time I have to reboot.
When I reboot I see the following:
-bios
-mythbuntu splash screen
-flashing image on the VGA port, saying TV login, and no image on the TV

The strange thing is that I booted my box this morning, I see the following:
-bios
-mythbuntu splash screen
-"mount of filesystem failed. A maintenance shell will now be started..."
root@TV#~mount
/dev/sda1 on / type ext4 (rw,errors=remount-ro)
lots of proc, none, udev ,rpc_pipefs and nfsd lines

What should have happened
-I should have seen an image on either the VGA or the TV out connector.
