[Bug 477174] Re: mtd crashes when trying to rip a dvd

Bug description:
I had previously been running a beta of mythbuntu 9.10 and everything was working fine. once the RC build was available, I did a dist-upgrade to the most recent packages. since that point in time, trying to rip a dvd fails to connect to the transcoder. checking dmesg, I see output along the following lines:

I don't see any problems in /var/log/mythtv/mtd.log.
