Re: [Bug 543801] Re: Installation freezes at "Configuring Infrared Devices"

I think it is completely reproduceable, since the daily build from last
week did exactly the same thing. I selected 'Primary Backend' and then
took the defaults, with a couple of exceptions:

 1) 'Primary Backend' does not automatically select the service that the
frontend requires - I forget the name - but I selected it. I think I
wrote a bug for that back around 9.04.

 2) I turned off SMB and turned on VNC.

I think for everything else I took the default - open source video
driver, no IR remote, etc.

I can try it again tonight. I have to reboot after the installation
hangs; I hope you get what you need from the logs.

Bug description:
Installing Mythbuntu 10.04 Beta 1. I am installing a standalone Backend, which doesn't have a remote control (no surprise there). Installation goes fine up to the 82% mark, then hangs displaying "Configuring Infrared Devices". This is on a system that runs 9.04 just fine. I tried the daily build a week ago (13 March) and it had the exact same bug, but I didn't know where to report daily build bugs.

Since this one will prevent just about anyone from building a Primary Backend, I think it should be a pretty high priority to fix.
