[Bug 551887] Re: VDPAU fails in mythbuntu 10.04
Are you sure that your nvidia driver is working properly?
You can check this for the kernel module:
modinfo nvidia
You can check the xorg.conf to make sure it's loaded and mentioned there:
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
Does it indicate the driver is loading from /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
Did VDPAU work before and stop working after a particular update?

Bug description:
OS: 2.6.32-18-generic #27-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 26 19:51:10 UTC 2010 i686
Nvidia driver (supplied by ubuntu 10.04 up to date): 195.36.15
Nvidia card : 9600 GT
Whenever I play a recording (from hdvpr, H,264 format) It fails toplay it.
Mythfrontend print the following error:

2010-03-30 09:38:06.019 VDPAU Error: Failed to create VDPAU device.
2010-03-30 09:38:06.019 VDPAU Error: No VDPAU device
2010-03-30 09:38:06.019 Failed to create VDPAU render device.
2010-03-30 09:38:06.019 VidOutVDPAU Error: Failed to initialise VDPAU
2010-03-30 09:38:06.020 VideoOutput, Error: Not compiled with any useable video output method.
2010-03-30 09:38:06.020 NVP(0), Error: Couldn't create VideoOutput instance. Exiting.
Is this an ubuntu bug? is there a work around or a fix?
