Please close this bug. It is now the other way round - in the dev ppa
for 0.23 ac3 (even upmixing to ac3) always works like a charm for months
- it is the rest of the mediaplayers that has troubles now on karmic. As
lucid is so near, we should call it a day...

And now doing as in the wiki (settings see attachment)

-> When starting a recording's playback, AC3-Symbol on Receiver flashes, there is sound for 1-2 sec an maybe every half minute. When hitting <esc> mythfrontend shutsdown unexpectedly.

mp2 works, but sounds distorted. The same mpg palyed in vlc or kaffeine is fine - with ac3 passthrough and all.
