Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve lirc by opening this ticket.
Since there are so many other people already attached to the other
ticket that you point to, I'm going to close this one and re-open that
one. Furthermore, I found a patch that may or may not help your problem
- I hope that you can test it.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: lirc
I have a very big problem, I am trying to use the latest version of lirc 0.8.6 ubuntu 4 with an Igor Cesko's IR receiver. The receiver is recognized correctly:
[ 962.186438] lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, major 61
[ 962.192925] lirc_igorplugusb: USB remote driver for LIRC v0.2
[ 962.192932] lirc_igorplugusb: Jan M. Hochstein <hochstein@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

[ 982.548040] lirc_igorplugusb[2]: Ing. Igor Cesko, Copyright(c) 2003 IgorPlug-USB (AVR) on usb2:2
The irw does not give me any output when I press a button on the remote..
When I press a button on the remote I see in dmesg:
