Message #01898
[Bug 567648] Re: Possible device error upon booting
On one of my computers with a fresh install of Kubuntu 10.04 64Bit I'm
experiencing exactly the same problem.
The only obvious side effect is, that the error message is displayed for
so long, that the Plymouth boot screen doesn't show up at all. Right
after the error message disappears, KDM is already starting.
Strangely I can't find this error message in any of the logs (dmesg,
udev...). It's just visible during bootup.
Hardware:
Intel DG33TL board
Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 CPU
harddisk: Samsung SpinPoint T166 160GB SATA II
DVD-RW: LG GSA-H62N
AHCI is enabled in the BIOS.
It's a Kubuntu intall mostly with default options (not encrypted home
directoy or such things). Though in the installer I did choose to create
the partitions manually in order to have / and /home on seperate
partitions.
