[Bug 654956] Re: LIRC generates problematic conf file
So let me just get this right - you recorded the conffile fine in 8.04
using lirc 0.8.3, but recording from 0.8.7 in 10.10 there are problems?
Does the remote perform entirely correctly using that conffile from
0.8.3 in 8.04 on 10.10? If so, then that sounds like a regression
specifically in irrecord.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: lirc
The lircd.conf generated by irrecord seems to result in a bad file. In order to generate the file I had to use the 'force raw' option. Without this option irrecord errors with "something went wrong. Try again". The file this generates works to a certain degree. It is possible to use the remote control. Button presses are registered just fine in IRW but in MythTV I have to wait a second between button presses in order for it to work.
Using an old live cd of 8.04.4 I created a new lircd.conf using version 0.8.3. Using this file I have not experienced any issues when using the remote control.
I am using a Streamzap ir receiver with a Panasonic N2QAYB00010 remote (it came with the TV).
