Mario,
     Thanks for your quick reply. I turned on apport as you requested. 
There was no initial report, but after logging out and back in a second 
time, mythfrontend froze for ~30 seconds then an apport dialog appeared. 
I have posted this bug as a follow-up to 658524.

As a side note, I also noticed that $TERM was not set when I opened a 
terminal to edit /etc/default/apport. I don't know if this is related or 
not.

Bug description:
I just installed a fresh copy of Mythbuntu 10.10 on my Zotac Zbox as a frontend only machine. Any attempt to run a recorded video from my 10.4 backend (updated to 23.1) causes X to crash and GDM to present me with a fresh login. This system appears to work fine with 10.4. Any suggestions for further diagnosis would be appreciated.
