Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve MythTV and Ubuntu by opening
this ticket.  Others that have encountered a similar problem have
noticed that changing playback profiles to one that does NOT use XvMC
has resolved this issue.  Could you please try that, and perhaps other
profile options, and report back?

Bug description:
Binary package hint: mythtv-frontend

Release:  10.10 beta
Version:  0.23.1+fixes26192-0ubuntu1
When attempting to play video, either live tv or recordings made on the backend, X crashes and GDM restarts.  There is no video playback at all.  I can reproduce the issue on both of my frontends.  One is running an ATI video card, the other is Via so I do not believe the instability is related to the video driver.
