Sound goes bad when changing channels

Bug description:
Currently have Beta 8.04 installed and all updates as of 4/2/08.
Whenever I change a channel in LiveTV, the sound gets full of static
and gets a loud, high-pitched whine to it. If I exit out of LiveTV and
go back it, everything is fine again. If I'm watching LiveTV then a
scheduled recording wants to start, that recording will have the same
sound issue throughout unless I exit out of LiveTV first.
I'm currently just using onboard audio. From lspci:
00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc.
VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 60)
I've only had this problem since upgrading from 7.10 to the 8.04 beta.
Audio worked fine when changing channels before then. I spoke to
someone in IRC about it and they pointed me to this article:
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_PVR-500#Audio_Instability
I guess exiting LiveTV and restarting it does what that suggested
command would do. And having to do that at every channel change isn't
really a solution. I'm not sure where I would insert that script that
is suggested either.
