[Bug 261476] Re: Monitor resolution detection fails with Samsung PS42A450 and S3 Savage 4.
Marking incomplete as this release isn't supported anymore. Can anyone
confirm that this issue is still present on a supported Mythbuntu/MythTV
release?

Monitor resolution detection fails with Samsung PS42A450 and S3 Savage

Bug description:
I do have a Number Nine AGP DVI graphic card with S3 Savage 4 chip on
it. When connected to a HP Ultra VGA 1280 CRT monitor with D-Sub VGA
the top available screen resolution is just 1024x768 instead of
1280x1024. That's quite fine, as 1024x768 75Hz is quite a good setting
in this case.
The problem comes when I connect a PS42A450 plasma screen. The native
resolution is 1024x768.
When the connection is made through HDMI/DVI input the Mythbuntu
detects just 800x600 modes. No 1024x768 available. When connecting
through D-Sub VGA all I have is up to 512x384. Other computer with
other OS allows me to use the full 1024x768.
