Hi! I have set password in Mythbuntu Control Center and it should be
correct place to do it... Same issue still exists in mythtv 0.24.2. I
cannot stream via mythweb my recordings at all in any PC and any
player..

  mythweb streaming fails with mythv 0.24.1

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  mythweb streaming fails with mythv 0.24.1. I have tried with VLC 1.11
  version and WMP in WIn7 64-bit. These used to work but not anymore.
  After couple last updates, mythweb streaming stopped to work.
